ROMOLD Energy Compensation Chamber
The ROMOLD DN1000 energy compensation chamber is a novel method of managing steep pipeline grades without the need for drop pipe structures.
The energy compensation utilizes a hemi-spherical base with a tangential inlet. This sets up turbulence within the chamber to dissipate energy and decrease flow velocities through the chamber.
For stormwater, this allows for steeper line grades and inlet velocities without the risk of scouring concrete manhole chambers.
For wasterwater, internal drop pipes can be avoided. The full plastic solution avoids any risk of corrosion due to hydrogen sulfide gas liberation. This is especially useful when using an energy compensation chamber for high flow pressure sewer discharge.
ROMOLD energy compensation chambers are constructed from ROMOLD mouldings at the AML workshop in Kerikeri. Designs are typically made in collaboration with the engineer to ensure that all project constraints are considered. Feedback on the expected performance of the solution can also be provided.
