3 Waters Asset Data Standard
With the rollout of National Engineering Design Standards (NEDS) under The Local Government (Water Services) (Repeals and Amendments) Act 2025, requirements for a Code of Practice for storing and sharing 3 Waters data will increase.
The 3 Waters Asset Data Standard (3W ADS) is designed to become the foundation for a national Code of Practice and an Acceptable Solution for regulatory compliance.
What is the 3 Waters Asset Data Standard (3W ADS)?
The function of the 3W ADS is to provide a common language for describing physical assets across the water industry. This is particularly relevant to whole-of-life asset management processes within local authorities and enables efficient transfer of data along the whole supply chain.
